Labels adaptation with iBrams at Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG

Initial Situation
Incorporating more than 360 companies in 82 countries around the world, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG is a true global player. One of its key business areas today is trading with chemical-technical products for the small trade sector. These goods, which are centrally purchased by Würth in Germany, labeled and then globally sold, particularly urgently require specific measuring instructions, appropriate safety indicators and a list of additives in all local languages of the target countries.

Previously, however, there was no binding procedure to for label production. The biggest problem was the fact that the labels were only available in common languages such as English, French and German, rather than comprehensively in all languages of the respective export markets. As a result, the managers on site often commissioned ad-hoc translations that did not comply with design specifications and were very error-prone.

Therefore, a binding, centrally controlled process for label adaptation was required as the company aimed to transform the former mainly manual process into a digital workflow.

The Solution
This task was excellently suited for the iBrams brand management solution. The basic design of the existing templates was largely kept intact and adjusted to a newly created coordination and production process.

The easily manageable iBrams user interface allows users, even without any prior experience, to professionally design the layouts in Adobe-InDesign quality through the Internet. This way, the centrally created label templates are always up to date and can consistently be produced in several languages in compliance with the design specifications.

Success Story
The first step was to upload 130 templates into iBrams and to integrate 25 countries with 28 languages into the fully automated process. This resulted in a globally uniform solution for label production that precisely delivers the required language versions and combinations.

"The introduction of iBrams was absolutely smooth. All involved, in particular the users around the world, are enthusiastic about the new solution. The former label production was very time-consuming since the coordination processes and numerous revision loops required a great amount of time, but today we have a fully automated system that allows the checking of the project status at all times, which saves us costs and work hours," said Jürgen Häckel, Würth's IT Manager.
