The AIR application iBrams Desktop Assistant (IDA) simplifies marketing processes and brings the solution to the user’s desktop.

Frankfurt/Main, February, 09 2009 – Adobe Systems awards iBrams the 2008 Innovation Award for Solution Partners. iBrams allows marketing professionals to create communication and advertising media more quickly and cost-effectively while guaranteeing compliance with existing corporate design rules. The new iBrams Desktop Assistant (IDA) based on Adobe AIR technology provides users with a desktop icon which enables them to upload Adobe InDesign templates and artwork created by Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator documents more easily to their iBrams account.
“The iBrams Desktop Assistant utilizes current Adobe solutions, such as Flex, AIR and Creative Suite 4 in an innovative fashion,” says Klaus Kurz, Business Development Manager for Creative Solutions at Adobe Systems. “The application links web and desktop and simplifies routine tasks, which helps users to work more productively.”
“After more than ten years of close cooperation with Adobe, the iBrams Desktop Assistant is yet another innovative application that combines the potential of both companies’ technologies for the benefit of the user,” says Andreas Michalski, CEO of CDO Corporate Design Online, maker of iBrams. “We are very proud to receive this and look forward to further exciting innovations in 2009.”
The iBrams Desktop Assistant extends the iBrams web-based brand management solution by adding the advantages of a desktop application. By double-clicking on the IDA icon, the user can access the iBrams web application directly on the desktop and log in automatically using stored user information. For importing documents, content can be dragged from any storage location onto the IDA icon. Files can be uploaded from a variety of different applications including Adobe Bridge and Microsoft Outlook. If the internet connection is lost, the transfer of the selected files is interrupted and automatically resumed as soon as the user is back online. The document transfer runs in the background without interfering with the user’s other work. The user can thus benefit from a close connection between the backend Adobe InDesign Server and the OS-independent desktop application.
Eligible candidates for the 2008 Adobe Innovation Award were applications implemented between January 1 and December 31, 2008, developed with at least one Adobe product for the media and publishing industry. Decision criteria included the degree of Adobe product integration, the variety of products incorporated by the solution, the depth of integration and the degree of innovation.
